The One Bad Egg

It was hiding among the other eleven -- its shell wrinkled and strange. The one bad egg.

I did not know what to expect if it were cracked.

It sat in the carton until it was the only one left.

I felt sorry for the bad egg, thinking maybe it wasn't so bad after all.

But, with a light shining through it, looking strangely alien, I thought surely this must be a bad egg.

Crack! Into a bowl it went.

Looking for all its worth like a good egg, after all!

Prompting me to crochet my own eggs, never to be bad.

Ever. Or the evil rooster will get them.

What a fun post! I guess you just never know. What looks bad may not be so bad after all.
But you took care of that issue by creating your own! cute!

This post cracked me up! That's neat that the egg turned out to be good after all. I love your crocheted eggs.

LOL - It's not bad at all - it's a "signature egg". It's a little known fact that chickens often lay eggs that look different. I have had some hens that have laid eggs with odd bumps in the same place every time. Your little eggs are just as much fun!

Oh what a fun, clever and original post! It had everything, drama, suspense, fear, bravery, creativity and finally happiness....with the little bit of a threat lingering there whenever a rooster crows!!! Love the crochet eggs. You nail the yolk color perfectly!

very cute...so, can't judge an egg by it's cover? or beauty is in the eye of the potholder?

Wow...that is odd! But cute inspiration!

Hello.
I'm laughing because whenever we buy eggs, my wife checks every single one. She looks at the bottom of the carton too for leaks/spills. You definitely can't go wrong with your homemade eggs! Thanks for sharing this fun post.

I've seen eggs like that and I always just switch them another carton...

I guess I'm shallow.

I don't even give the bad egg a chance to shine.

I feel very bad now.

My in-laws had really old chickens for awhile and they laid some really "bad" eggs! I always felt nervous about cracking into the really bumpy strange wobbly ones too but the insides always seem okay!
