Death by Patio, on the patio....

Patio is seemingly innocent..... could such a sweet face belong to one who stalks and kills?

OK, so cats do this for a living.... only I've never been a witness to their thirst for protein. Well, once when I was a kid I saw my cat with a worm in his mouth.  Eeewww! Yep, screamed like a girl.

But this sweetie? A stalker of lizards?
Surely you jest....

Guess not!
Patio vs Lizard

Poor lizard never had a chance.

Yesss, I like to play with my food....

You just think you're getting away

Nom nom nom

Double nom nom nom

Patio wins over Lizard!

Yes, I am the top cat of lizard stalking....

I had to immediately wash my hands. And I was inside, behind a glass door. Never anywhere near cat or prey. But, I had to go wash. my. hands.  Right away!

Funny thing at the end. Blackie appeared and came over to sniff the head  and then walked away to lounge a bit. I guess the head isn't as delectable as the rest.  So they left it there. Yuck! Hubby's got some sweeping to do when he gets home.

I'm certainly not going out there.

Today's music moment ------- The Doobie Brothers -------

"Black Water"

from a concert in New York in 1996

This is probably my favorite Doobie Brothers song -- it brings out my Southern roots.

I'd like to hear some funky Dixieland
Pretty mama come and take me by the hand

Now, to bring out your Southern roots, be sure to pronounce "funky" like fonky as in honky tonk, not funky as in monkey.

*smiles*

Sharing Patio the Stalker and the Doobies over at Miss Jenny's for Alphabe-Thursday where we are studying the letter D
and on Caturday and Camera Critters

Well, that is a bit disgusting to watch. I hate when my cats catch things in front of me.

Patio is such a pretty cat!
Cats are predators, but I didn't know they hunted lizards?!
I once got a dead bird as a "present" from one of my cats.

I had a cat that used to bring live snakes to the door.
UGH!

We don't have lizards here but they look like fun! Patio is very pretty and it was good that she didn't take her prey to a secret place to eat so she must be more comfortable there. Yay!

Hah! There is really no difference between a cougar and a house cat except size! They are amazing hunters...

Cats are so sweet, but they are also ferocious hunters! Hopefully the little guy stayed down.

Fortunate. My sister's cat brings gifts directly to her...

Ew... and poor lizard.
Never saw it coming did he?!

Cats are ruthless. Ours used to drop off dead birds on our front step as gifts. I watched them once; they played with the bird before they finished it off. Still close to pre-domesticated roots, I guess.

The first dance I went to as a college freshman at MTSU featured the Doobie Brothers music. I have adored them since! We were watching a terrific movie, Bottle Shock, and the song, Toulouse Street, another of our favorite Doobie Bros. came on. I think it is amazing how music that we listened to as "youngsters" are the favorites of my 22 year-old son! We had the best music!
Thanks for stopping by.

Kitties can be kinda evil sometimes!

Almost all of their little behaviour traits can be linked back to hunting instincts I'm afraid. Good job they're cute!

We had a cat once who would catch mice and bring them to us...deposit them on the doorstep. Yuk! Your kitty is very pretty for a stalker;))

We don't have lizards here in UK (Well we do but it's rare to see one and they don't look like that!) We do have low worms though, which are actually a lizard but without legs, looks like a snake! My cat is forever catching them, she's fascinated because they wiggle. I always rescue them from her lol.
Your kitty is adorable!

You were a witness to that murder! You shouldn't have left till the cops got there. :))

How could such an adorable cat be such a devious lizard murderer?

It must have been devastating witnessing such a horrific act!

At least you had The Doobie Brothers to drown out the madness.. . (((winkwink)))

Darling post for the letter "D"!

Thanks for linking.

Reminds of the time I was watching a little fly catcher bird who was nesting near us. I love to watch birds. Apparently so does my chihuahua Paco, he proudly pranced into my house one day with that little bird dead in his mouth and dropped it at my feet. :( Not sure how to thank him for the gift.

who knew cats liked lizards? My sister's cat is always bringing mice or a bird in the house! They've all been dead, except for one. And when my sister saw the mouse still squirming she screamed, the cat dropped the mouse ... and the mouse started running around the house! mind you, at 2am. what is it about cats doing these things in the middle of the night?
