I Don't Like Spiders and Snakes...

I about jumped out of my skin when I looked out my bedroom window and saw.....

THIS

So of course (knowing that you would truly enjoy some close-up spider shots) I grabbed the camera and ran outside.

I think their webs are quite fascinating

and they are neat to watch as they build their homes....
(from a distance, of course)

but I'm not so thrilled with the homeowner!

YIKES!
thank goodness for the zoom lens!

when I enlarged this shot, I could see the surprise Ms. Spider was about to leave me

This!! She decided that my bedroom window was a good place to leave her offspring!
I didn't agree.

No, that's not two egg sacs, just a reflection!

So I got hubby to go outside and knock the egg sac down to the ground. (I'm the one who freaks out at bugs of all types!)

We thought that the babies could just as easily run all over the ground instead of our window -- where the screen, by the way, has a small hole in it. Baby spiders sharing my bedroom is NOT part of the program!

And I don't know about you, but I'm creeped out just writing this and dealing with those pics!

To combat more creepiness, I am leaving you with some cute kitty pics....
I'm sure you'd rather think of cute kitties than yucky spiders!
Hey, just be glad there are no snakes!!

This is Patio, Jr who apparently thinks rainwater is better than the water in the communal water bowl...

Midnight agrees!

Oops! Caught in the act!
I'll stare at you and bolt if you take one tiny step toward me....

(Thank goodness again for the zoom lens!!)

Aw! Cute kitties! but spiders...ew! Although, I agree, I am amazed with their web spinning skills! Spider webs are pretty fascinating! (I am not crazy about snakes or roaches!!!)

Blessings & Aloha!

Yikes! Is so the word for that spider! When they get that big, it's way too serious! Your kitty cats are mighty adorable though!

Thanks for the kitty comic relief!
I really don't mind spiders. They are rather fascinating. However--not in my house!

Okay, I guess I am in the minority here. I like spiders. They are ferocious bad-bug eaters. And, I do love to look at the webs they spin. The one you have pictured is sometimes called a sewing machine spider because of that heavy zig zag line of web that appears on their finished webs. Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing!

Eeek! I'd be not too happy with that egg sack! Spiders do kind of freak me out, even though I try not to harm spiders I know don't attack people. I did used to live in a house with black widows, though, and that was no good. I love the last kitty shot! Very Egyptian looking.

Sweet little spider!

Great photos. Did you do anything to enhance the webs to make them so clearly white? I've heard of tips like spraying them with water or white paint, but never tried anything beyond catching them with dew in the sun.

We have had so much rain. Spiders have been appearing everywhere. They must like rain.

Just looking at those photos makes me cringe...Too close for my comfort!

Yes, the kitty pictures are much cuter than the spider -- and why is it all cats like to drink any water not in their dish?

Like you I am not fond of spiders but I can deal with them as you do -- from a distance, a safe distance. "S"s as we call them because I won't even say the word -- totally different story. I didn't go on FB for a week because someone had posted a picture of one and I couldn't have it on the monitor long enough to remove the person from my feed! I don't look at photos and I don't even say the word... so if you ever post a picture will you warn us, please!

Hi there! I'm your newest follower! Ew, I'm not a big fan of spiders either. But Those are awesome pictures. I probably wouldn't have been able to take those pictures! And the kitties are just darling.

I do like the kitty pics better than the spider pics! We have a spider that likes to make her web outside my living room window. I got some good shots of her too. I am glad however that she found a new place to make a web because I haven't seen her in a long time.

Those spider pictures are fantastic! I don't mind spiders--they're good luck, you know. But I've never had any luck taking pictures of the webs like you did!

Yep, I'm creeped out.

LOVE your black cat! I had one once, Floyd, but he passed away several years ago now. Miss him when I see cats such as yours.

Yes, spiders freak me out, but I hate killing them. I just picked up some hedgeapples found along the roadside and will place one in every room in my house to dispel them all fall/winter♫ My Letter s: http://lauriekazmierczak.com/saddle-into-the-sunset/

Awesome shots, but I really don't like spiders either. The cats are cute.

Oh yes, I'm sure glad you added some fluffy, cute images afterward.

I'd be high-tailing it out of there if I saw a spider like THAT. You're brave to even take photos of it all.

Ewww.
