Quackers

Quack Quackity Quack!

Recently, we headed to the park to feed the quackers -- uh, ducks (and to burn off some Noli energy since she was spending the night...)

I kept telling her that she needed to tear the bread into little pieces!

Yikes! They're ganging up on her!

Even though I was using the zoom, I still got up pretty close to this one.

Pfptpfptpfptpfpt!! Blowing a raspberry at us!!

This one kinda scared me -- he was moving at a fast clip right at us!

Then we started around the lake, and stopped at our favorite tree to feed the ducks. We like to stand on the roots and Noli wonders why I won't let her get too close to the water's edge....
Don't worry, I won't fall, Mumsie!
Yeah, like I'm going to risk that!

and guess what Noli discovered!!

Aren't they cuties?!!

Noli kept asking where the mommy was
and I kept answering "I don't know!"

Is this the mommy??
Nope!

 Here she is!
(and I can tell you, mommy is not a runway model....)

But she obviously loves those ducklings and watches over them with care...

C'mon kids, stay close to mama!

Noli makes extra duck footprints with a stick

and picks up a fluffy feather

Do you think ducks know to cross the street here? she asks  : )

I guess so.... they've got pictures!

Sharing our duck quackers adventure over at Miss Jenny's for Alphabe-Thursday where we are studying the letter Q
Also sharing on Camera Critters and at Grand Social!

What a delightful Q post!
The photos of the geese and ducks are wonderful! And, isn't the soft downy baby feathers on the babies beautiful. It looks so soft and fluffy!!
I enjoyed my little walk with Noli and the quackers!

Wow, she was really close to those geese! My husband is terrified of birds, so he would be impressed with her bravery. :-)

Those baby ducklings are almost as cute as Noli -- but not quite! Amara and I were just talking the other day that we need to go feed the ducks again. Now that I know there might be ducklings we HAVE to go!

The little babies are so cute! They have some of those duck crossing signs around here, too. I love it. :)

We once went to a garden that had a similar sign, Butterfly Crossing, and our then 5-year-old grandson asked, "Do butterflies know how to read?"

Some of those are almost her size! I love how that one duck looks like it's running away from the huge piece of bread. The ducklings are too cute!

The baby ducks are so cute!
I recently feed a goose right from my hand, but I was on a boat dock when I did it. I don't like to be on the ground and surrounded by them...they kinda scare me!

Ducks and geese can be quite quarrelsome at times but it looks like Noli has everything under control...

I am still smiling about Noli asking if they know how to cross by the sign... Too cute!

Clever post for the letter "Q"!
