Quirky Noli Food

Kids not only say the darndest things, they eat the darndest things (hoping you remember that old TV show with Art Linkletter *grins*)

Anyway, I was raised on banana sandwiches and pineapple sandwiches and then, naturally I passed that particular cuisine on to my kids. I tried with Noli, but she would have none of it! On an earlier session of Alphabe-Thursday, Quirky Sandwiches was my Q post, complete with not only banana and pineapple, but also the famous Chex Sandwiches, made and perfected by Chef Noli! If you'd like to check them out, go here for Quirky Sandwiches!

So this is another Quirky post -- a couple of odd combinations that Noli discovered! Odd to me, and quite possibly to you, but apparently not odd at all to Noli!

Noli's favorite condiments

She likes honey on eggs.... actually on scrambled eggs 'cause she doesn't like fried eggs, probably because of the gooey yolks... But she loves a bit of honey on her 'crabbled' eggs (crabbled eggs is what Noli's mom called them when she was little, and the name has stuck.  Cute, huh?!

Noli says that one time when she was eating French fries and ketchup with apples on the side, an apple slice accidentally fell into the ketchup and went for a swim. She tasted..... she liked! So now she has apples dipped in ketchup!

I don't know, I like my crabbled eggs with cheese and butter melted in and a bit of pepper sprinkled on top. And my apples with their skin as their only covering. How about you?

Oh, and of course the crocheted stuff is from my shop (shameless promotion). I'm working on one or two more of the apple wedges to go with the apple in a little set.

Maybe I should crochet a bottle of ketchup to go with it!! Ha!

I prefer scrambled eggs to fried ones too!
However, your fried crochet eggs look great :) And the apple slice is so cute! Love your work :)

I can see the honey with eggs. If I'm eating something like pancakes or french toast where there is syrup involved and it gets on my eggs...that's pretty tasty. I can see honey being similar to the syrup.
Now the ketchup and apples...she's on her own :)

What a delightful post for Q and Noli is certainly a free spirit who knows what she likes! Creative needlework you are doing!

What a girl! She is quite a character and learning on her own what her tastes are. Good for her!

Children do eat craziest things! I would be willing to try the honey on my eggs because I have been known to eat jam on my scrambled eggs -- yum! But ketchup on your apples? No! Amara has always been very picky but no weird combos. Her Mom on the other hand loved mustard on her french fries and on her cottage cheese. Gross!

SO cute! I'm not sure about apples and ketchup though. :) Your crocheted pieces are adorable!

Good for Noli, she adds a lot to your quirky post. I like 'crabbled' eggs, I would like hers. But yours better with a little Ketchup on the tops.

I had that for lunch today, an egg stirred in a butter sprayed small Pyrex bowl. I had some cheddar cheese stirred in with it. Then microwave on high for one minute (cover or it may end up on the roof of the oven).
I put it on toast, put a few pastrami slices on top and heated it in the microwave. Had it been sausage it would have had ketchup but pastrami rated Mayo.

the seeds on your apples are adorable.

I guess I can add honey to anything, and I'd like it! I Love Honey... But I like my eggs like you! {:-D

Apples and ketchup?! That's a new one to me. The "weirdest" food combination I do is put sriracha on popcorn.

Yep, ketchup on apples seems quirky! The only 'odd' food combo I can think of enjoying is black pepper on a cream cheese bagel.

Ha.Ha. I think I'd prefer my apple slices without ketchup -- caramel dip might be nice, but just plain is how I like them best.
Love your crochet apple slices, too.
