Butterball ~~ Big or Itty-Bitty?

So, do you get a big turkey like this fluffy guy....

and then serve him up

Or do you just sit an itty-bitty guy like this one on the table
and have vegetarian turkey instead?

This is Tommy Turkey and he is a tiny guy

I sold him, along with his two brothers,
to a lady who wanted triplets!

Do you watch this huge guy leading the Thanksgiving Day parade?

No matter the size of your turkey, or how many are around your table,
I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

and just for fun, here's the Thanksgiving Day parade from 1935...

I have a big Butterball turkey because my mother always swore by Butterball.

I had no idea they had those big Balloons in the parade that many years ago. I knew they had them in the 1950s when I was growing up. I never went to the parade, but we watched on tv.

I have an itty-bitty 12 lb. turkey this year. There are only three family members and one guest, so there will be a lot of leftovers for "sammiches!""

Ahhh I see on google that today is your Thanksgiving day. I always thought it was the last day of Nov for some reason.

We've had a cold snap in Sydney these past 2 days, so we're having a roast chook with baked vegies to warm up the house (it will probably be our last one until April sometime).
It will be a lovely chance to ask my family about what they're thankful for.

Thank you for reminding me of your lovely tradition :-)

Wonderful post ~ loved the 1935 video of the parade ~ lovely needle work ~

Will have turkey with my family ~ mostly stuffing mashed potatoes and vegetables ~ not a real meat eater !

Happy Thanksgiving to you

Hi Sarah, Happy Thanksgiving!! ~~ I liked your 'little' turkey, you did well on it. The 1935 parade was interesting too. I really didn't know much about Thanksgiving parades until I went into the Army and they had one in El Paso.

We went to the Macy's Parade here in Houston today. We took our 5-year-old grand-daughter, it was her first parade She lived in London until July 16, this year.
We went almost every year with her mom.

This is so fun! We generally do the big butterball, well my family does. I am not a great cook so I am not entrusted with the bird (fine by me). I am the green bean casserole girl!

I thought there was a Thanksgiving parade. This year, I didn't watch it, or any football! And I didn't have any turkey!

Tommy Turkey is adorable! I'm coming over to see your other crocheted friends. {:-D

I love your itty bitty turkey but I am very partial to a great big butterball, too! Loved the video!

Wow - I had no idea they had big parade balloons like that to long ago! We lucked out and ate at someone else's house, and then they gave us leftovers. They roasted the big turkey and we got to enjoy it!

I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving week and had a great time ... and food! This year I did't cook as much, we was visiting family ... so no turkey in my home :) ... but I'm sure it will be in Christmas dinner or next year!

Aw.

Thanks for the smile!

We didn't do any turkey this year...I was recovering from some throat surgery!

But I'd like a beautiful tiny turkey, please!

Thanks for a fun link for the letter B.
