His moving out process has lasted about eight or so years.....
(I'm sure some of you can identify with this!)
He really surprised me -- after we ate, he jumped up and said that he was going to get all the book boxes -- he had bought a number of bookshelves and now had a place for them.
I was giddy!
I counted twenty (TWENTY) boxes!!
Full of books
books and CDs that couldn't be housed in the shed.
The boxes had been in two closets....
spilling over into a corner in my hubby's office
CDs, DVDs, 35mm film reels,
even empty DVD cases for crying out loud!
and then he got the metal wire shelving unit that used to be in his room,
and some more stuff that had been in the shed.
His SUV was filled to the brim!
Hope this wasn't an April Fool's joke
and he brings it all back.....
Does this innocent face look like he'd play a joke on his mama?!!

How exciting! You have so much empty room now!
I sure can relate. We moved before all of our son's stuff/junk was taken away! Thanks for sharing.
Happy Blue Monday, Sarah.
It takes some boys longer to grow up to be seasonable men. Perhaps he has finally making the right decisions.
Maybe it was his way of 'holding on' ~ leaving the nest is rather awesome ~ Handsome son ~ ^_^
Thanks for coming by and commenting.
I love books and have tons of them! Thanks for stopping by. Your comment made me chuckle! :=)
How exciting! Hopefully it wasn't just an April Fool's joke. :)
Hope those boxes don't show back up someday! Even after being married 25 years, my dad still has stuff of mine stored in his basement and he's threatening to bring it all out to me soon!
I hope for your sake that it's not a joke! Wow! That's a lot of space. So, he bought bookshelves! Did he get a serious girlfriend or is he already married? {:-D
Twenty boxes sounds promising. =0)

haha! Those boxes may not come back... but some other ones might. LOL
Glad you got to spend Easter with your son :) And even happier that you now have more space for crafty storage!
Wow! That is a lot of stuff and room--what a great mom.
LOL! Looks like a handsome man ready to spend most of his time on his own. : ) Mom still makes the best meatloaf and cookies, right?
Ha, I hope my mom doesn't read this and get any ideas. I still have a room full of stuff at her place. ;D

Oh, can I relate! On our son's last visit, he went through many boxes and tossed unwanted things, donated other items, and also (like your son) took books back with him. There are still many boxes to go, though, since he still doesn't have storage space. I think he's on the eight-year plan, too, LOL.
