You might remember when I wrote about the "very tiny babies" that were born in our yard on April 12.... it's been 3 ½ weeks and we have now had an official kitten sighting!
Wait, mama, wait for me!
Yellow kitty escaped from their little nest behind the board leaning against the shed, following Mousie mom across the yard. She was heading to the greenhouse (which we use for an extra storage space since neither one of us has a particularly green thumb) and little Yellow Kitty was in hot pursuit! About as hot a pursuit as a 3 week old kitten can manage!
Mousie turned back to rescue Yellow Kitty, after waiting a few minutes while the big bad hooman man (Dennis) had a good look at her kitten (standing several feet away). That little kitty was mewing away!
Then mama ran over, snatched Yellow Kitty up and ran quick as a bunny to the greenhouse. Zip zip through the doggy-now-kitty door and jump jump up onto the built-in potting table, and scoot scoot behind the tarp covered storage boxes on said table.
Gotcha!
But not before I got a series of Awww moments with Grey Kitty!
Oh my, is this the cutest or what!
A definite awww moment here! The little furball.
Mama catches her again
and goes back to get Black Kitty.
Ha! This is all I got of Black Kitty's transport!
Mouse had been practicing with the other two kittens and was too fast for me!
Now they are all three nestled snug as a bug in the greenhouse!
And we can finally get rid of the poison ivy that's growing at the corner of the shed... the "kitty corner" as it were. LOL!

We've had cats but never a black one. Nor a calico cat.

Nothing cuter than kittens!!
What wonderful pictures! It sure makes me want a kitten -- please don't anyone tell Twiggy or Twursula that I said that. They wouldn't understand.
Wonderful photos of Mama and the sweet kittens!

so sweet and fun!! Love to see this tenderness and mama's joy!
What a bunch of little cuties! :-)
They are cuties! It's great they have a caring mama, too.
We had a stray move in under our deck when I was a kid and she didn't take care of her kittens, at all. She didn't even clean their poor little faces - we had to go catch them and hold warm washcloths to their eyes to get all the crusted gunk off so they could finally open their eyes when they were 3 or 4 weeks old. It was so sad to see her neglect the little ones, but she was so wild and seemed to care only for her own survival. We were able to find homes for all the little ones, though. =)
She's a loving Mama Cat. Sometimes I feel sad for our Molly the Cat that she won't ever experience having babies.

They are so cute!
They are cute. Is the mother feral? Where I used to live our yard backed up to an apartment complex. I guess people sometimes moved and left their cats behind. A feral colony formed nearby. I had a couple of litters in my yard. One litter had feline leukemia, but the other litter was healthy and became inside cats and live with us to this day. I caught their mother in a humane trap and had her fixed and then released her. I would have kept her too, but she didn't stay around. Do you think you can get the mother fixed?
I love cats and cute kitties are the best!
