Have you ever eaten a pineapple sandwich?
How about a banana sandwich?
Those are two of my most favorite sandwiches to eat for lunch (and they are very quick to fix when you suddenly get the hungries, LOL!)
The secret to a pineapple sandwich is chilled pineapples. I just put the can in the fridge when I unpack the grocery bags -- then they're ready to go when I crave one of these yummy sandwiches!
Anyway, then you get a pineapple slice out of the can, wiggle it a bit to get off excess liquid, tear it so it's not a circle anymore and put it on one of the slices. Repeat with another slice, fitting it into the first slice. (There's an art to this, you see ...)
Now you're ready to go .... unless .....
Like me, you like FOUR slices of pineapple!!
If two are good, four are better!
Add some corn chips (there's something about the sweet and salty combo) and a glass of milk
Hint: "diaper" it with a paper towel 'cause there's no way all the juice wiggled off!!
(Yeah, that's a bite taken out -- I couldn't wait!!)
Now, a banana sandwich is made the same way as a pineapple sandwich except, of course, you use a banana rather than pineapple. (This said because some might think they should use both pineapple and banana on the same sandwich, and that might be a bit of sandwich overload ...)
Slice the peeled (again, for those people, certainly not you) banana in half across its mid-section, slice those lengthwise into four or so pieces, and layer on the mayonnaised (Miracle Whipped) bread. Stack as high as you please!!
Here's one Noli made up! Chex sandwiches!!
Peanut butter between Chex cereal!
Noli doesn't like pineapple or banana sandwiches, but she can eat these things all day!!
(original blog post here)
And if those bits of quirkiness between two slices of bread (or Chex) aren't enough for you, check this out!!
a Peanut Butter and JellyFish Sandwich!!
Is that priceless or what?!!!
It's from the Etsy shop Sappy Moose Tree and, although this has been sold, she's got lots of other quirky goodies in her shop!
♥♥♥ I'm linking my Quirky Sandwiches over at Miss Jenny's for Alphabe-Thursday where we are studying the letter Q.
I know, I know, it's kind of a stretch -- but I didn't feel like lugging out the Quilts and snapping pics!
Another time, I promise!

Can't say I've heard of a pineapple sandwich! That Jellyfish sandwich is adorable!
I love peanut butter and banana! But I also love pineapple sandwiches. People in Tucson never heard of that combination, but now that I'm back in the south.....
When we moved to Tennessee, someone was telling me about such a thing and I just looked at them like, "What planet are you from?" Never, I mean never had I heard of anyone eating bananas much less pineapples with mayo (or Miracle Whip). I'm a peanut butter & banana sandwich gal all the way, but after learning you use Miracle Whip with this definitely quirky sandwiches then I may try some day when I happen to have these items on hand. Now, your little daughter has a great idea with the Chex cereal. She & I could become good buddies, I think. lol Thanks for stopping by today!
you got me at pineapple,, I'm going to get a can and try this..love it!
Nice Q post

My quirky sandwich is cream cheese and green olives!
Great post....
There is a GREAT sandwich song my kids still can recall (mostly) from memory. I wish I knew where to find you a link...it goes: "sandwiches are beautiful, sandwiches are fine! I like sandwiches, I eat them all the time. I eat them for my supper and I eat them for my lunch; If I had a hundred sandwiches, I'd eat them all at once." and then there are verses! Your quirky sandwiches reminded me of this! Thanks for the lovely memories and the delicious ideas!
I think that I would rather mix my pinapple with cottage cheese rather than bread. But everyone is different. Love the jelly fish sandwich! Made me laugh!
does this work with fresh pineapple? (loved the etsy shop critter!) thanks for stopping by.
Ahh, that first sandwich sounds good! You crack me up! I love the banana! And chex and PB/ Noli is a sweety! Love PBJF!
Blessings,
Susie
I love banana sandwhiches, but I prefer to mash the bananas first the mash the mush on bread. I also have a specialty sandwich. Peanut butter, jelly, mayo, and bologna. Don't ask how I created this messterpiece. lol

I've never had a "plain" pineapple sandwich before. Need to try that! I love a pineapple/avocado/cheese! {:-D
hahaha! Great post - love the critter sandwich ;-)
Those Chex sandwiches are definitely something I would have made at Noli's age. I still love crackers and peanut butter!
those are definitely some quirky sandwiches. Isn't it great that we can all have our own likes and dislikes?!
Haha I agree with Linda pineapple goes better with cottage cheese :) I am going to try the peanut butter chex sammies for my son. Great fun idea!!!
Those are definitely quirky sandwiches! And you received even more possibilities in the comments! Noli is the cutest! (Her "sandwiches" are not so quirky after all!)
Your crocheted banana is great!
Oh my...I've never quite tried something like that! I'm not really into sandwiches so much, but I do love a good penut butter plain (without jellyfish please)!
Peanut butter and raspberry jelly(fish) for me please!
I've never even thought of a pineapple sandwich!
It would definitely be quite interesting to try!
Thanks for a fun link!
